So, there’s a reason I haven’t been on in a while.

I got a job!

An internship in this nice little nonprofit located in Manhattan, to be precise. It started early in July, and it’s been going on ever since. Next week is my last one, and just thinking of that is giving me a lot to think about–how the experience was, what I’ve learned from both my experience and my coworkers, how I can incorporate what I’ve learned in my future endeavors–things like that.

I’m actually a little sad that after next week it will be over. The atmosphere was really nice, and my coworkers were really kind. I even managed to get a book recommendation out of it! (The Night Circus, by Erin Morgenstern; I’ll talk about that one in a bit.) I learned how to communicate better with people, how to refine my computer skills, and I’ve even managed to negotiate some top level decisions–such as getting an ad for my company in a newspaper.

Out of all the first jobs to have, this was probably the best. I’m still writing, of course; and I still want to go to publishing. But I wouldn’t mind coming back here–at least after I graduate.
